At least 10,000 Sikh yatrees including 3,000 Indian Sikh yatrees are expected to participate in three-day festival of “Besakhi” scheduled to commence from April 12, at Gurdwara Siri Punja Sahib Hasanabdal.
Talking to The Nation Deputy Secretary (Shrines) Syed Faraz Abbas informed that Indian Sikh yatrees after arrival at Wahgah border would leave for Hasanabdal through three special trains. He said that Indian Sikh yatrees during stay at Gurdwara Hasanabdal would be provided with all facilities free of cost. He said the Indian Sikh yatrees would be accommodated inside the Gurdwara while Sikhs from different parts of the country would be given residence in different govt schools situated near Gurdwara. He said that almost 300 Sikh yatrees were expected to arrive from different European countries. Meanwhile, the Attock Police have chalked special measures to ensure foolproof security on the occasion while TMA Hasanabdal would ensure civic facilities.
