KARACHI - Five traffic police wardens were suspended on Friday as former president Asif Ali Zardari got stuck in traffic on Shahrah-e-Faisal on Thursday when he was going to airport to leave for Dubai.
Traffic officials suspended the former pilot traffic section officer of the former president’s squad namely Tipu Sultan, Traffic section officer Ferozabad, Deputy Superintendent traffic police Ferozabad and traffic section officer of Shahrah-e-Faisal. Former president Zardari has left Dubai for a private visit.
TWO BANDITS SHOT DEAD
Police claimed to have gunned down two bandits and wounded another in encounters here on Friday. Defence police, during routine patrolling, saw the bandits who were busy looting the passerby Aslam at Defence Mor. When police tried to intercept them, they offered resistance. Resultantly, during an exchange of fire, both the culprits were wounded. They were taken to JPMC where doctors pronounced the death of the culprit while admitted his wounded comrade. Police claimed to have recovered two pistols and looted valuables from their possession.
On the other side, Bin Qasim police killed another bandit in another alleged encounter at Bin Qasim Road. Police mobile, on routine patrol, asked the suspects riding a motorbike to stop when three gunmen resorted to firing on the police. During an exchange of fire, one of the culprit sustained bullet wounds and died on the spot. Two of his accomplices were managed to flee from the scene. Police shifted the body to morgue where he was identified as Zamir Hussain who hailed from Interior Sindh.
Meanwhile, a private security guard was shot dead in mysterious circumstances here in Site-B police precincts. Police said the victim private security guard Saeed Azam was working at a local factory in Shershah area. He was killed when a bullet was fired mistakenly. The factory administration took him to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
