6 persons die of coronavirus in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi   -  Six more persons died of coronavirus in different hospitals of city here on Saturday, informed sources.

The number of critical patients also increased in the garrison city hospitals as 226 patients tested positive of deadly virus, they said. 

On the other hand, the district administration imposed smart lockdown in Lalazar area in the garrison city and Maira Shams in Gujar Khan. 

According to sources, a lady namely Sitara Bibi (64), resident of Misrial Road, died at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology where she was brought on March 15.    

Another lady Attiya Asmat, (75), resident of Shahpure Road, died at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology where she was brought on April 3, they said adding that Haji Fida Hussain (67), resident of Sadiqabad, died Rawalpindi Institute of Urology where he brought on April 6.    

Nargis Ali, (48), resident of Bank Colony, died at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology where she brought on April 8, sources mentioned.

They said Shakoor Shah, (51), resident of Pirwadhai, died at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where he was brought on April 9.

Sabie-un-Nisa, (38), resident of Dhoke Matkyal, died at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where she was brought on April 9.

Total 226 patients reported from the district while 170 patients from the garrison city including 58 patients from Cantonment and 53 patients arrived from Potohar Town and 59 from Rawal Town areas. 

From the other parts of the district, 24 patients from Gujar Khan, 14 from Taxila, four from Murree, one from Kallar Syedan and four from Kahuta were reported. And, three patients arrived from Islamabad, two from Chakwal and one each from Abbottabad, AJK, Gujrat, Peshawar and Rawalakot.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 3438 active patients. As many as 1198 patients are in the hospitals including 68 patients arriving from other districts and 2246 patients are home isolated. As many as 642 patients are awaiting their results for Covid-19 serology. 

The new Covid-19 patients arrived in the city hospitals including 28 patients admitted in Holy Family Hospital, 26 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 132 in Rawalpindi institute of Urology (RIU) and 23 patients in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH). There were 33 patients on ventilators in Rawalpindi, 111 are on Oxygen and 65 are stable.
