On Saturday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Nosheen Iftikhar bagged victory on a National Assembly (NA) seat in highly-contested Daska by-polls, according to unofficial results.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results of all 360 polling stations, PML-N’s Nosheen Iftikhar got 111220 votes as compared to the runner-up, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Ali Asjad Malhi, who secured 92019 votes.
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shahbaz thanked supporters of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on the party’s victory in NA-75 by-polls.
Compared to the 2018 election result in the constituency, both the PML-N and the PTI did better – with the PML-N registering a 8% increase in votes and the PTI candidate gaining 51% more votes despite a lower turnout (43.33% compared to 55.84% in 2018).
