LAHORE - Music is the main limelight of director Javed Sheikh's flick 'Khulay Aasman Kay Neechay'. It is a musical hit and a family oriented film. The music is very melodious and have richness of romantic feelings in the backdrop of love story. Its credit goes to late maestro Amjad Bobby who worked very hard on the music of 'Khulay Aasman Kay Neechay'. This was the third film which was released after the death of Amjad Bobby. This was a good gesture of Javed Sheikh that he had dedicated 'Khulay Aasman Kay Neechay' to Amjad Bobby.
This article is also a tribute and a salute to great maestro Amjad Bobby. Bobby died due to cardiac arrest on April 15, 2005.
Actress turned director Reema Khan's flick 'Koi Tujh Sa Kahan' was the first film which was released after Bobby's death. Javed Raza's film 'Kabhi Pyar Na Karna' was the second and now Javed's 'Khulay Aasman Kay Neechay' was the third movie which was released after Bobby's death. All these films were musical hit and proved blockbusters. Only Shahzad Gul's upcoming film 'Imaan' has left which is yet to be released. The music of 'Imaan' is totally complete.
Bobby was the first Pakistani composer, who crossed the border for composing quality music for the Pak movies. According to Bobby best equipments were not available in Pakistan for the recordings that was why he had to cross border for creating best music. Rather my producers forced me to go India and compose music over there in India, Bobby had told this scribe many times when he was alive.
Bobby composed music for Pakistani films like 'Ghar Kab Aao Gay', 'Teray Pyar Mein', 'Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa', 'Koi Tujh Sa Kahan', 'Kabhi Pyar Na Karna', 'Khulay Aasman Kay Neechay' and Shahzad Gul's film 'Imaan'.
For 'Khulay Aasman Kay Neechay' Bobby used 50-plus violinists something which was unheard-of orchestra figure in Pakistan. He used the voices of best Bollywood singers such as Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Sukhwindra and Shaan. According to Javed Sheikh he had spent a fortune on music alone.
Javed shot the film variously in Sydney, Canberra and also in Mumbai's famous Film City studios, Dubai and in Pakistan. This film took a long time in the making - five years, to be precise.
'Khulay Aasman Kay Neechay' claims to be a high budget movie and a complete family entertainer. Javed worked very hard and tried his best to attract the families to see this film. Bobby was a lucky charm for Javed Sheikh for the music of his films, who will be the next lucky charm for Javed Sheikh? Javed knows better.
Humayun Saeed, Sana, Saleem Sheikh, Nadeem and others performed very well.
Meera the princess of Lollywood, who is the youngest legendary superstar had used best of her acting skills and performed excellently. She performed close to the reality and looks very beautiful in her performance. Performance wise this was one of the best film of Meera's career. She is very sharp in delivering performances.
It's a high-budget film as Javed had invested Rs.8 crores on it. It's the most expensive film ever produced by any Pakistani film-maker.
Now it has been proved that the best selection of the team, best selection of the script is the guarantee of a blockbuster film. The success of this film has definitely given a boost to the crisis-stricken Pakistani film industry.
The sudden death of Amjad Bobby is a great loss to the Lollywood music. He was the last composer of the sequel of Khawaja Khurshid Anwar, Baba G.A. Chishti, A Hameed, Master Inayat Hussain, Rasheed Attrey, Nashad, Master Abdullah, Rehman Verma and Nisar Bazmi. After his death none of left who could fill the vacuum of Amjad Bobby.
After the release of Shahzad Gul's film 'Imaan', the people will be deprived off listening the melodious urdu songs in Pakistani movies.
