The rainwater also entered local peoples houses, triggering collapse of many mud-made houses, besides uprooting of trees and sign boards due heavy winds. In addition the rain caused suspension of power supply in the city and its surroundings that was restored after seven hours. On the other, the Agriculture Department said that the rain would have good effect on the crops, especially cotton and paddy since the farmers earlier worried due to lack of water and electricity for tube-wells.
