Nawaz to announce Rozgaar scheme

LAHORE (APP) - The Punjab government is formally launching the Punjab Rozgaar Scheme with an allocation of Rs 4.5 billion from August 14. Announcement in this regard will be made by PML-N President Nawaz Sharif at a public meeting to be held on the evening of August 13 at Minar-e-Pakistan in connection with Independence Day celebrations. The scheme is basically for hundreds of thousands of unemployed educated and skilled people to enable them to earn their livelihood. Under the programme, Rs 20,000 soft term loans will be advanced to 100,000 jobless people so that they could start their businesses at limited level. It will help minimise poverty in the province, sources told APP. Besides, some 20,000 taxis under Yellow Cab scheme will also be provided to unemployed people on easy installments. These cabs will be given at divisional level.
