Shahbaz announces 15 more Model Bazaars

LAHORE Announcing 15 more Model Bazaars in different Punjab cities, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday said setting up of these bazaars is a splendid project, which has provided great relief to the people. Not only quality essential items are available to the citizens at fixed rates in the Model Bazaars, but other facilities have also been provided to the consumers, he told a meeting. Six Model Bazaars have been completed while the scope of this project will be extended to all districts under a phased programme. Fifteen more such bazaars will be set up in various districts this year. The measures taken for the supply of daily use items to the citizens at fixed rates in Ramazan Bazaars are commendable for which elected representatives, officers of departments concerned and district administration deserve all credit, Shahbaz Sharif sai, while presiding over the meeting regarding setting up of Model Bazaara and provision of quality essential items to the fasting people at cheaper rates. The CM said establishment of Model Bazaars was a revolutionary and excellent project of the Punjab government, which had been widely appreciated by the people. He added that he had twice visited Model Bazaar in Township and a large number of people had commended the project. Shahbaz Sharif further said six Model Bazaars had been set up in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur, while 15 more would be established in Faisalabad, Multan, Gujrat, Toba Tek Singh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Mianwali. Model Bazaars will be set up in various districts in accordance with their ratio of population so that people could purchase necessary items without any problem and maximum people could benefit from these bazaars. Model of Project Management Unit should be adopted for Model Bazaars to ensure excellent facilities to the consumers, he said while appreciating the performance of MNA Muhammad Afzal Khokhar, Secretary Industries, Secretary Agriculture and DCO Lahore regarding the establishment of model bazars and said the entire team had rendered commendable services. The culture of providing relief to the masses will have to be further promoted, he said, while directing that no compromise should be made on the quality of essential items in model bazars and provision of all facilities to the people under one-roof should be ensured. Earlier, Chairman Model Bazaars Project and Chairman Price Control Committee gave a detailed briefing regarding establishment of model bazaars and supply of essential items to the people in Ramzan bazars. Chairman Model Bazars Project Muhammad Afzal Khokhar informed that people were grateful to the CM for setting up model bazar in Township where all facilities were available to them under one-roof.
