KARACHI - The Minority Affairs and Hindu leaders have rejected the reports that Hinuds are migrating to India.They said that the Hindus left the country to visit the religious places there, claiming all the 247 Hindus will come back to Pakistan. Sindh Minister for Minority Affairs’ Mohan Lal Kohistani, Sindh Minister for Excise Department Mukesh Kumar Chawla, PPP MNA and former federal Minister Aijaz Jakhrani and leader of Hindu Council Mahesh Kumar while addressing a joint press conference at Karachi Press Club on Friday evening rejected the media reports about the mass migration of the Hindus to India.They said that a total of 247 Hindus left for India to visit the religious places there and they will return back to Pakistan. They said that Sindh is our motherland and will never leave Pakistan. They said that law and order situation was not a problem for Hindus as it was a problem all over country. PPP MNA Aijaz Jakhrani, who hails from Jacobabad, said that the PPP government provides protection to the Hindus, which could be gauged from the presence of three minority ministers in the Sindh Cabinet. He said that they contacted the federal minister for interior affairs to allow the Hindus to visit religious places in India. They said the reports about mass migration of the Hindus to India were aimed to defame Pakistan. It may be noted that the on the directives of the President, the Sindh CM has ordered an inquiry into the widely publicised report of mass migration of Hindus to India. The Hindus have been complaining about the lawlessness and kidnapping of the Hindus as well as forcibly conversion of Hindu girls to Islam.Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari has also taken notice of reports of mass migration of the Hindus to India and formed a three-member committee led by Federal Minister Senator Mola Bux Chandio, directing them to report the President House within a week about the issue. However, during the press conference, Excise Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla said that more Hindus will leave the country for India for pilgrimage.
