ISLAMABAD- As many as 35 amateur artists painted posters to visualise the theme of “Mera Pakistan” for celebrating the forthcoming Independence Day of Pakistan here Friday at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).
The participants were the students of Summer Art Camps that PNCA organized in collaboration with Ministry of National Heritage and Integration to promote healthy activities among the young generation through creative ideas. The budding artists created images related to freedom movement, national flag, historical buildings of Pakistan and other related themes to showcase their abilities as well as celebrate the Independence Day in a colourful way.
The poster exhibition was followed by Instrumental Music programme at National Art Gallery in which the students of music workshop presented the melodies of national songs. Director General PNCA, Tauqeer Nasir distributed certificates and gifts among the children for their performance and urged them to follow positive ideas for their bright future.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that art education is a way to promote positive activities among youth that maintains peace and harmony in the country.
Meanwhile, a colourful puppet show was also arranged to entertain the audience as the puppeteers of National Puppet Theater presented national songs, tableaus, skits and dances to highlight the theme of Independence day. Puppets dressed up in traditional attires expressed the joyous moments of the 66th Independence Day of Pakistan while their performance also portrayed the history of Pakistan movement in the form of stories to grab the attention of the children and educate them about their history.
