LAHORE – A four-member delegation of foreign legal scholars from the United States and India, headed by Elizabeth A. Badger of Boston University School of Law, called on Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa at the Governor’s House on Friday.

Issues relating to the federal structure, legal education and challenges to governance in Pakistan came under discussion during the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, the governor said no country and civilisation could survive without justice. “Justice should not only be done, but also seem to have been done,” he added.

Khosa said the PPP government was determined to hold free, fair and transparent elections. “Fair elections are the beauty of democracy, and we believe in the beauty and diversity of the democratic system,” he observed.
