LAHORE – The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) claimed on Friday to have made foolproof cleanliness arrangements during the recent rains.
According to a spokesperson, about 5,000 workers were deployed on special duties during the monsoon season. LWMC management had also ensured 100 per cent attendance of the workers during rain, he added.
“LWMC Managing Director Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry and General Manager Operations Khlaid Majeed visited different areas of the City to ensure proper execution of the monsoon emergency plan,” the spokesperson informed.
“During their visit to Union Council 41, the LWMC managing director suspended two sanitary supervisors Asif and Sabir in Aziz Bhatti Town because of non-compliance with duties during rain. Also, the LWMC managing director and general manager operations remained in the field to closely monitor the cleanliness activities by the staff,” he added.
