ISLAMABAD – The National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing Friday recommended the cancellation of all recruitments made in the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF).
The committee met under the chair of Pervaiz Khan Advocate. Director General FGEHF Talat Rashid Miyan briefed the Committee on the issue of recruitments made in the Housing Foundation.
The committee head sought opinion from all members who unanimously decided to take action against those concerned for all recruitments.
The committee unanimously recommended its decision to cancel the illegal appointments and a proper inquiry be conducted to see as to who was involved in these recruitments. The committee also recommended to proceed against the officials responsible according to the departmental rules coupled with that financial loss suffered by the department in salaries and other privileges.
The Housing and Works Committee also sought action against the Finance Department of the Foundation making them accountable for expenditures they have advised for the creation and approval of the posts. The committee showed its displeasure over the absence of M B Awan Ex. Sr. Joint Secretary Ministry of Housing and Works and decided to take action against him under section 223 of CPC to stop his salary immediately and directed the concerned quarters to take action against him.
The NA body decided to cancel the plots allotted to Executive Committee Members including deputationist and other employees of the department. Recoveries should be made from the employees who have sold their plots, the body recommended.
The meeting was attended by Jamshed Dasti, Syed Alla-ud-Din, Nazir Bughio, Tariq Mahmood Bajwa, Ghulam Haider Samejo, Iqbal Muhammad Ali, Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, Abdul Qadir Baluch, Nelson Azeem, Nosheen Saeed and senior officials of the ministry and the Foundation.
