RAWALPINDI - On the directions of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab Youth Festival will start from August 25.The competitions of nine games would be held from union council to divisional-level. Declamation contest, essay writing, art and craft, paintings, Qiraat and Na’at Khawani competitions would also be held amongst the students of government colleges.  This was informed by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Imdad Ullah Bosal during a meeting held at his office here on Friday. District Coordination Officers (DCOs) of four districts, Divisional Sports Officer Manzir Shah Farid, Director Local Government Jamshed Akhter Kiyani, Director Colleges Dr M Ashraf and District Sports Officers of all districts of the division also attended the meeting.  Divisional Sports Officer Manzir Shah Farid informed the meeting that these competitions would be started in every UC of the division spontaneously and ACs and Tehsil Sports Officers would supervise the competitions held at tehsil level.  The DCOs and District Sports officers would supervise the competitions at district level while Commissioner and Divisional Sports Officer would supervise the competitions at divisional level. The declamation contest amongst the college students would be supervised by Director Colleges. Ex-national players would be appointed as referees while expert teachers would be made judges for the declamation contest. Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Imdad Ullah Bosal directed that all the TMAs of the division should spare 2 per cent of their budget allocated for sports events to hold these competitions in a befitting manner and every one should feel his own responsibility to make these competitions successful.
