LEAs nab 33 suspects during raids

KARACHI - The law enforcers claimed to have arrested at least 33 suspects during separate raids and operations conducted in various parts of the city on Sunday.
According to the details, Ranger personnel conducted a targeted raid in Murad Goth area of Manghopir and arrested two alleged Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan operatives. The Rangers spokesperson also claimed to have recovered weapons from their possession including 4 hand-grenades, 6 rockets and 10 detonators fuse. The suspects were shifted to undisclosed location for further investigation.
Earlier, a Rangers team raided a marble factory in Manghopir locality and arrested 3 members of a banned organisation and also claimed to have recovered weapons from their possession.
In another raid, Rangers claimed to have arrested two suspect extortionists at Nayyabad area, Lyari. The Ranger’s spokesperson said the accused were arrested when they came to collect extortion money. The spokesperson also claimed to have recovered weapons and extortion money from their possession.
Another alleged extortionist was arrested by Rangers during a targeted raid conducted in Khadda Market area of Lyari. The Ranger’s spokesperson said the raid was conducted on the information provided by the already arrested culprits, adding that a huge cache of illegal weapons including automatic rifles were also recovered.
In Landhi area, Rangers, on the information of presence of criminals, extortionists and target killers, conducted a targeted operation and arrested nine suspects. Heavy cache of weapons was also recovered from them.
Meanwhile, police also launched a targeted operation in Pathan Colony and Bawani Challie areas of District West. The entry and exit points of the areas were closed and no one was allowed to go in or out during the operation hours. Police apprehended suspects and also recovered weapons from their possession. The suspects were shifted to undisclosed location for further questioning.
District West SSP Irfan Baloch while confirming the arrests said that 16 suspects were taken into the custody while further investigation was on underway.
