rawalpindi - A Pakistani citizen has obtained nationality of Hong Kong on fake documents, well-placed sources disclosed to The Nation on Monday.
The alleged fraudster has repeatedly travelled from Benazir Bhutto Islamabad International Airport (BBIIA) while throwing mud into the eyes of authorities concerned including Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) and Immigration Department, sources added.
According to sources, a resident of Dohala village of Mirpur, Sultan Habib son of Sher Alam (late), whose computerised national identity card number is 81302-7854729-1, has managed to get a fake NADRA CNIC (92008-0105434-5) with the name of Noor Hussain son of Qurban Hussain, a resident of Dopata area of Mirpur.
The sources said that Sultan had provided his mother’s name as Iqbal Begum to NADRA authorities for issuance of real CNIC card whereas he mentioned his mother’s name as Sakina Bibi for obtaining fake CNIC.
Moreover, Sultan Habib provided National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) with old CNIC number of his family head as 70587376821. Interestingly, no NADRA official had bothered to verify the data of the applicant, the sources mentioned.
Taking advantage of NADRA’s negligence, Sultan applied for passport with his fake name Noor Hussain son of Qurban Hussain, which was issued, sources said and added that he managed to get nationality of Hong Kong on the basis of his fake passport.
Sources further alleged that Sultan was also involved in smuggling drugs to Hong Kong through BBIIA. The sources said that Sultan has allegedly strong links in NADRA as well as passport and immigration department.
When contacted, Sultan Habib started using abusing language against this scribe and hurled threats of dire consequences. “I will not spare you if you will unearth my fake Hong Kong nationality scam in media,” he added. However, he rebuffed the allegations that he was ever involved in narcotics smuggling.
Interestingly, FIA Director Inam Ghani and In-charge AHTC Deputy Director Mubashir Tirmizi have taken no action against Sultan despite provision of all the evidences by this scribe during the last three months. During a meeting in July, Director Inam Ghani assigned the task to Deputy Director Mubashir and directed him to nab the alleged fraudster.
“I will definitely take action against the fake passport holder Sultan Habib if you will table an application before me,” said Tirmazi when this scribe asked about action taken so far against the alleged fraudster.
