A married woman was axed to death by her father after she refused to return to her husband’s house here the other day.
According to police, Umm-e-Laila, daughter of Muhammad Ismail, a resident of Thatha Gahra, was married off to Ghulam Abbas of Mubarak Colony Hafizabad about two years back.
Due to her strained relations with her husband, she returned to her father’s house. Muhammad Ismail advised her, time and again, to return to her husband’s house but she paid deaf ear to his advice. Following altercation on the issue between the accused and the deceased, Ismail got enraged and allegedly gave several blows of axe, and killing her on the spot. The police have registered a case murder case.
