KARACHI - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday said that general elections could be held in the country at any time ‘as the federal government was not stable’. “PPP does not follow the whims of anyone, except of the people. Punjab and the federal government would fall tomorrow, if Opposition parties bring no confidence motions with unanimous decision. As long as the PPP was part of the Pakistan Democratic Movement, the Opposition was gaining ground,” Bilawal said this while talking to media after inaugurating the renovated of YMCA Ground on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab and others were also present. Bilawal strongly criticised the federal government and termed it illegitimate which can be toppled anytime.
“New elections are the solution to the problems faced by the people of Pakistan. This government is leaving soon, and the PPP will form the next government,” he said.
He said that PPP never followed footsteps of anyone in the past and will not do so in the future.
He said that people from Karachi to Kashmir were looking only towards his party as they think that only PPP has the solution of their problems.
The PPP Chairperson said that the injustice being done to Sindh was in front of everyone.
“The federal government is repeatedly doing injustice to the city (Karachi) and the province (Sindh). The PPP’s Sindh government is working despite the limited resources,” he added.
He said that a year had passed since announcement of Rs 1100 billion package for Karachi but the federal government did not give a single drop of water or one megawatt of electricity.
He said that their share of NFC was not being given.
The PPP Chairman said that as long as PPP was part of PDM, the Opposition was winning the by-elections.
“We (joint Opposition) have defeated the incumbent federal government in by polls from Karachi to Khyber from the PDM platform and showed that the people of Pakistan are not with the PTI,” he added.
Bilawal said that unfortunately the Prime Minister had a lenient attitude towards terrorists, asking the federal government to end its “leniency” towards terrorists. “We can only eradicate terrorism by implementing the National Action Plan in true letter and spirit.”
Speaking on joining of prominent personalities of Balochistan in the PPP, Bilawal said that Sanaullah Zehri was leading the PML-N but after joining PPP he was criticised.
“Our doors are open for anyone who wants to develop Pakistan. We will welcome everyone who opposes Imran government,” he said.
Bilawal said that many people were talking about his recent visit to the United States as they heard the cries. “I did not go to Washington during the visit but will be visiting soon, then he will hear the screams of the rulers,” he added.
He said that Local Bodies elections were going to be held and the people of Karachi will give response to MQM-Pakistan and PTI.
In response to a question, he said that Sheikh Rashid was also Musharraf’s Minister as Asif Zardari had ousted Musharraf and now Imran Khan will also be ousted by our party.
