ISLAMABAD (APP) - The Iranian traditional music mesmerised the audience at National Art Gallery which left them spell bound with the flavor of Iranian soft music amalgamated in the Pakistani trends here late Wednesday. Iranian vocalists performed on Saadi, Firdousi, Naziri and Allama Iqbals poetry using one of their popular musical instrument 'Tanbura. Blending their performance with Pakistani singers, the fusion was presented by Shabbir Hussain on Tabla, Mohammed Salman Adil on Flute and Raees Ahmed on Violin. The event organized by the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Ministry of Culture. Speaking on the occasion, Tauqeer Nasir, Director General PNCA said that Iranian art exhibitions and film festivals were the part of Pakistani cultural activities on regular basis but Iranian vocalists have been performing in Pakistan after a long time. Pakistan and Iran share common bonds of religion and culture which strengthened the friendship of the two countries in terms of cultural values, love and harmony. This musical evening will make close contacts between Iranian and Pakistani artists to further strengthen cultural ties of the two countries, he remarked.
