National Sr Cricket Cup from 20th

LAHORE Lucrative prizes will be disturbed in the 12th edition of National Seniors Cricket Cup which is scheduled to start on December 20. The matches in NWFP and Sindh will commence in the last week of January 2010. The league matches will be played in all the main cricketing venues of Punjab, Sind and NWFP provinces plus Islamabad. The regional finals of the North and South Zones will be played on the March 28 in the two Zones. The national finals between the winners of north and south zones will be played in the north zone on the April 4, 2010, said Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) Chief Executive Officer, Ashiq Qureshi in the build up during press conference on Thursday. He added that PVCA are running 12th edition of the event. An achievement almost unthinkable when we started our program. The most remarkable achievement of Veterans Cricket however has been its ability to turn a new leaf in Sports, by building capacities that were sadly lacking in our Country before. We have been successful in generating local support and sports patronage to make our programs financially viable. We feel proud to announce that our patronage infrastructure will defray almost the entire cost of organizing the 12th National Seniors Cup 2009-10 in which almost 100 teams from 58 cities will be competing for top honor. The winner and runners up teams in both the North Zone and the National Finals will receive Rs 150,000 and Rs 75,000 respectively. Special prizes of Rs 10,000 each will be given to the best batsman, bowler, fielder, wicketkeeper and all rounder. The Man of the Match in the Regional and National Finals will receive Rs 7,500 each.
