LARKANA - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday urged all the Muslim countries to unite and set up their own United Nations to safeguard the Ummah, saying that the UN is not protecting the Muslim states interests. The US and Nato were trying to hide their failures in Afghanistan and wanted to open new front, he said while addressing a certificate distribution ceremony of 22 religious scholars and 10 Hajiz-e-Quran here at Jamia Madarssah Larkana. He said that Pakistan would never compromise on her sovereignty, adding that JUI workers were ready to defend the country. Fazl added that Pakistan had taken bold step to get Shamsi Airbase vacated, urging the government to ask the US to vacate other bases including Shahbaz Airbase Jacobabad, Gawadar Pasni Airbase as well. He said the halting of Nato supply was also the right decision, which is in the national interest to press the foreign forces to respect the sovereignty of Pakistan. He stated that Pakistan must stick to its stance and should not take a U-turn like Musharraf. The JUI leader stressed that the policies of Musharaf should be discontinued and supremacy of the parliament is vital for the country and its people. On the occasion, JUI Chief condoled with Sanator Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro over the sad demise of his father and religion leader Ali M Haqani and offered Fateha. Later, he visited different sections of Jamia and Bair Sharif near Qamber, where he condoled with Maulana Abdul Aziz over the death.
