LAHORE Discarded Pakistan wicketkeeper batsman Kamran Akmal believes that he has some six to seven years cricket in him yet as he is fully fit to represent the country in Pak-England Cricket Series in UAE in January 2012. Talking to media men here at the Lahore City Cricket Association ground on Saturday, Kamran Akmal said that he had always available for the national team whenever his services would be required to the team. My performance in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy matches is a big proof of my fitness and form as I am passionate for comeback in the national team. I have made more than 700 runs so far in the ongoing Trophy including three centuries and also took more than 40 catches. Seeing my form and performance, I am hopeful the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the selection committee will surely consider me for the Pakistan-England series, Kamran hoped. He further said that cricket is his passion and he cant live without it. Cricket is my passion and life that always keep me busy in healthy cricketing activities either playing domestic cricket or club cricket. It helps me a lot to make me fit and enhance my performance, he believed. He also appreciated National Cricket Academy (NCA) for helping him in removing his shortcomings and learning very important techniques. I am also thankful to NCA officials and it coaches who are very cooperative and kind and always help me in improving my fitness, wicketkeeping techniques and tips, he said and added: Mohtashim Rasheed is very skilled and nice person who really worked hard with me in improving my game and assisted me in overcoming my mistakes before joining the national women team as coach while now another NCA coach Abdul Majeed playing the same role and helping me a lot in improving my game. He further said that his meeting with the PCB chairman was very positive. My meeting with PCB chief Zaka Ashraf was very positive. I have submitted my all my documents and records to the PCB and now waiting for inclusion in the Pak squad for England series. I was dropped from the team just because of my poor form during the world now and now I am just focusing on my form and performance which by the grace of Allah is up to the mark and I am very hopeful for playing the series against England, he concluded.
