KARACHI - The Karachi Electric Supply Company on Saturday cut the power supply to the residence of Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomros over to non-payment. According to KESC, the minister had not paid the electricity bill of his Defence area residence for four months. A spokesperson of the utility company said the connection will not be restored until the dues of over Rs300, 000 are cleared. Soomro claimed he lives in an official residence and the government had paid the bill last month. He said that since last six months the electricity bill was being paid by the Department of Services and General Administration. The minister said he was in Larkana and was unaware of the disconnection. On the other hand, KESC has not restored the power supply to the Punjab House in Defence area which suspended due to non-payment of Rs1.6 million rupees.
