LAHORE - Education is the single most important factor which can transform Pakistans future. It boosts economy, broadens the outlook of society and offers brighter future for the youth. Universities should actively prepare the future leadership, salvage the social cultural collapse, re-build the economy and evolve a mechanism to groom students to compete with the global community of the modern era. Future of education lies in modern technology, we have to move forward with time to make progress and make Pakistan economically strong and stable. These views were expressed by the Governor Punjab Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa on the occasion of 6th convocation of Beaconhouse National University (BNU) on Saturday. The governor said, The universities have to create an environment which enables the students to develop academic, moral, physical, professional aptitude. Moreover, it would inculcate in them awareness regarding spiritual, potential, cultural, political aspects of society. The governor further maintained that quality education and broad minded approach to its objectives was ardently needed and great diversification in higher education was required for the socio-cultural and economic development. For this progress universities have to equip the students with the latest skills, knowledge and ideas, he added. The governor said, If Pakistan has to compete successfully in the world market, its citizens need to have a global vision, sophisticated intercultural skills and knowledge of language. Political literacy and economic awareness must be acquired in order to establish a self-reliant judicial system of good governance, which encourages equality of all citizens. Earlier, BNU Vice Chancellor Sartaj Aziz presented the annual report followed by valedictory speech by Syeda Ayesha Noor. Sartaj Aziz stated that BNU was playing its due role in providing quality education and enhancing the skills of the students on modern lines.
