MAILSI - Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan took a swipe at PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif, claiming that the latter always won elections with the connivance of empire. He also dubbed Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif as "Showbaz Sharif."
PTI Chairman Imran Khan remarked here on Monday while talking to reporters after offering condolence to former district nazim Mumtaz Khan Khitchi over the death of his cousin PPP MPA Sardar Muhammad Khan Khitchi. Speaking on the occasion, the cricketer-turned politician criticised the JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and said that he was not the "contractor" of Islam. He also lashed out at the Punjab government, saying that the "claimers" of good governance spent huge public funds to win the by-elections. Imran mentioned that the PTI would never form government with any of the present ruling parties, especially the PPP and PML-N. The PTI chief pointed out that the PPP which was ruling the country was not sincere to find assassinators of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He stated that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif spent Rs27 billion on one road in Lahore which could have been utilised for the promotion of education. There is a lack of primary schools and basic education infrastructure, especially in the rural and remote areas and more than 30 million children are unable to get education while other hand, the Punjab government has lavishly spent billions of rupees on Daanish school," he argued. Imran Khan pointed out that the youth would never join in the PML-N yet the Punjab CM gave them Laptops and launched youth festivals only to lure them. He said that the PTI would introduce a uniform system of education in Pakistan. He questioned that the incumbent rulers had ruled the country for the last four and half years and failed to solve the problems confronted the masses rather they aggravated the issues like energy crisis so how can they solve the crippling problems in few months. He expressed his astonishment that Nawaz Sharif talked of building a new Pakistan and suggested to him to maintain the law and order situation in Punjab and build a new Punjab first.
PTI Vice President Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jehangir Tareen, Ishaq Khaqvani, Mumtaz Khan Khitchi, PTI Tehsil President Ch Akmal, Aftab Khan Khitchi, Tousif Ahmed Khan, Aurangzaib Khan Khitchi, Jhanzaib Khan Khitchi, Ch Irshad Ghalvi and Noor Jahan Bhahba were also presented on the occasion.
Four cops injured : Four policemen were injured when their car fell into Rohi Nullah on Raiwind-Manga Road here the other day. SI Muhammad Yaqoob In-charge Police Post Kot Radha Kishan and three constables, Muhammad Sharif, Muhammad Hanif and Yousaf were patrolling when their car fell into the Nullah while overtaking a tractor-trolly loaded with fertilizer. As a result, the four policemen were injured.
The residents rushed to the spot and took the injured to local health centre from where SI Yaqoob and Muhammad Hanif were shifted to Lahore due to their critical condition.
