ISLAMABAD  - KRL beat PIA by 66 runs in the President's Cup One-Day 2013-2014 Fifth round match played here at KRL Ground on Tuesday. PIA skipper after winning the toss invited KRL to bat first. KRL were all out for 215 runs in 43.4 overs. Usman Salahuddin top scored with 45. Umaid Asif (42) and Saeed Anwar Jr (36) also batted well. Najaf Shah took 5 for 33 while Kamran Sajid also chipped in with 2 for 29.

Chasing a relatively modest total, PIA were bundled out for 149 runs in 32 overs. Shaharyar Ghani made 37. while wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed (34) and Shoaib Khan Jr (26) were other main contributors. Saeed Anwar Jr took 4 for 34 and Umaid Asif 2 for 33.

At National Ground, State Bank beat Wapda by 12 runs in a thrilling encounter. Wapda captain winning the toss decided to field first. Thanks to a swashbuckling 128 runs by Farrukh Shahzad, State Bank posted a mammoth total of 307 for the loss of 9 wickets in 45 overs. Rizwan Haider remained unbeaten on 74. Asif took 3 for 46. Wapda were bowled out for 295 runs in 44.5 overs. Ayaz made sparkling 100, Ayub 66 while Hassan and Tallat took 4 wickets each.

At Diamond Club Ground, UBL beat NBP by 5 wickets. NBP were all out for 164 in 41 overs. Fawad Alam made 67, Kamran Akmal 28. Adil took 3 for 36. UBL achieved the target in 37.4 overs losing 5 wickets in the process. Wajihuddin made unbeaten 40.

At Pindi cricket stadium: SNGPL beat PTV by 4 wickets. PTV, batting first, made 180 all out in 44.2 overs. M Sami made 57, Yasim Murtaza 41. Khurrum took 3 for 22. SNGPL reached home in only 25.3 overs losing 6 wickets. Adnan Akmal made 39.
