The biggest challenge the country still faces is how to deal with the militants who are trying to enforce their version of Shariah in Pakistan after having killed thousands of civilians and security forces personnel in the name of Islam. Unfortunately for the country, they have the support of religious outfits’ conservative political parties who are using religion in politics to forward their own ends. Political parties are creating confusion and complicating the situation. The ruling dispensation’s primary responsibility is to keep the country safe from external and internal enemies; the political divide is encouraging and strengthening the militants to challenge the writ of state. Everyone is anxious to see what strategy the federal government will adopt to eliminate internal threat once and for all to establish peace in the country.
