LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has granted approval to enhance the quota of jobs for the disabled persons from two per cent to three per cent as well as approved lifting of the ban on their recruitment.

Following a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Blind Association a few days ago, the chief minister on Wednesday approved the summary sent by Social Welfare Department and Baitul Maal. It would increase the quota of jobs for the disabled persons and bring in more employment opportunities for them.

Cops suspended: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered suspension of concerned SHO and DSP over negligence in the incident of killing of a polio worker in Faisalabad whereas explanation of concerned SP has also been called.

The Chief Minister directed that the accused involved in the murder of Bao Anwar, a district office-bearer of MQM in Sialkot, should be arrested immediately.

He was addressing a high level meeting here on Wednesday. The meeting reviewed the progress in the incidents of murder of polio worker, firing during protest in Faisalabad and murder of district office-bear of MQM in Sialkot.

He also addressed officers of district administration and police of Faisalabad and Gujranwala divisions through video link.
