LAHORE - Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has welcomed the government’s announcement for resuming dialogue with the PTI unconditionally and within the ambit of law.

In a statement issued from Mansoora on Wednesday, the JI chief urged the both sides to immediately announce the time and place so that the talks could begin without delay.

The PML-N has announced its two-member team comprising Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, however, the PTI yet to announce its team for dialogue on the issue of alleged rigging in general election 2013. Siraj asked the PTI for announcing the team for negotiation with the government.

The JI chief termed Ishaq Dar’s press conference as a good omen, saying that the responsibility for maintaining law and order primarily rested with the government. He said dialogue was the best option for the government to get out of the present crisis.

Sirajul Haq also appreciated PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s gesture for willingness to talks and expressed the hope that the talks between the two sides would begin soon.
