PNS Shamsheer rescues 41 people in Gulf of Aden

41 people were saved during a rescue operation in Gulf of Aden by Pakistan Navy ship PNS Shamsheer, after a boat overturned 30 nautical miles north-west in Socotra Island.

According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Navy, “PNS Shamsheer is part of a multinational task force 151, an international coalition task force of naval ships and aircraft formed under the UN mandate to counter piracy in Gulf of Aden.”

An information was received by the task force headquarters about a sinking Yemeni boat carrying 60 personnel. As soon as the information was received, PNS Shamsheer responded to the call and started search and rescue operation.

41 people have been saved from the 60 people on board.
