Rawalpindi - Police in their crackdowns against anti-social elements have netted 30 lawbreakers including four one-wheelers and five gamblers besides recovering 4310 grams charras, 115 grams heroin, 39 liter liquor, two 30 bore pistols with 32 rounds, a 12 bore gun with six rounds, fireworks, 50 kites, four motorcycles and cash amounting to Rs 10540 from their possession during the last 48 hours.
According to a police spokesman, Airport police netted Anees ur Rehman for having 500 grams charras. Gujar Khan Police recovered 3300 grams charras from Sherzada. Kahuta police arrested Akhlaq with 210 grams charras while Umair, Shakeel and Irfan were rounded up on recovery of 5, 4 and 5 liters liquor respectively.
Mandra, Bani and Gungmandi police also apprehended Abdul Rehman, Waqas and Zubair with 5, 10 and 10 liters liquor respectively. Westridge police rounded up a drunkard namely Shahzad who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Rawat police arrested four one-wheelers namely Usama, Ehtesham, Sohban and Babar Ali who were involved in rash and negligent driving and one-wheeling. Police also impounded their four motorcycles.
Pirwadhai police netted Abid for having 115 grams heroin. Banni police netted Ramiz and recovered 300 grams charras. R.A.Bazar police held Akash, a kite seller and recovered 50 kites. Other accused were sent behind the bars for having weapons and fireworks.
Meanwhile, Civil Line police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid in Chanda Chichi area and held five gamblers, Shahzad, Zeeshan, Waqar , Haris and Aqib who were involved in gambling while playing cards. Police also recovered Rs10540 cash stake money from their possession.
Separate cases have been registered against all the accused while further investigation is underway.
