HAFIZABAD-The role of voluntee rs, citizens and UCs chairmen and members of Municipal Committees is of great significance for the success of “Saaf Dehaat Programme” and Local Government Package.”
Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar stated during visit to different UCs along with Hafizabad DC Saleha Saeed and other officers of the district administration. The minister said that the provincial government has allocated Rs162 million for these two programmes aim at pavement of streets, provision of better sanitary conditions, potable water, establishment of dumping sites and eliminating pollution for ensuring better environments in their surroundings and to ward off threat of different ailments.
She called on all stakeholders to work as a team for getting better results. She said that all the 46 UCs would be provided Rs2.5 million each while every councillor of wards in Municipal Committees would be provided Rs0.5 million each for execution of projects under these programmes. She appreciated the DC and district administration for taking keen interest in making the programme a big success.
14 HELD IN OPERATION
The Sukheki and Pindi Bhattian Police have raided different villages last night and rounded up 14 criminals involved in different heinous crimes.
The police also seized large quantity of drugs and unlicensed firearms from them. The police registered separate cases against the accused.
