Information Minister Fawad Hussain Chaudhry has said that the federal government played no part in the arrest of the Khawaja brothers by the NAB Lahore.
In a statement in Islamabad, the minister said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government also had nothing to with barring Hamza Shahbaz from going abroad. Fawad said that the government did not form the cases against Saad Rafique and Salman Rafique and it had also not employed the NAB officers who have arrested them.
He said they have been arrested by the NAB Lahore after rejection of their interim bail applications by Lahore High Court in the Paragon Housing Scam.
He, however, said that action taken by the independent and sovereign institutions against those who are involved in corruption and plundering the national exchequer shows that the country is heading in a right direction.
