Journalists flay attack on peer



ELLAH ABAD - The members of union of journalists, both from the print and electronic media, protested against the attack on the life of a senior reporter of a local news channel here the other day. According to the police, reporter of a local TV channel Mehar Abubakar was shot twice in the left shoulder and other arm by unidentified men at his office situated on Kanganpur Road. He sustained critical wounds and was rushed to a local hospital.

 from where he was referred to Lahore where doctors pronounced his condition to be stable.
According to eye-witnesses accounts, the assailants were equipped with sophisticated arms who escaped after the attack. The incident created panic among locals who joined the ensuing protest by the members of union of journalists against the deadly assault. Local journalists including M Ramzan Hameed Khan, M Ishfaq Nadeem, Sardar Afzal Doger, Sarwar Zahid and others demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. They also demanded security for working journalists. The police are investigating the incident.
