Plaintiff in murder case harassed, shot at


HAFIZABAD - Twelve men opened indiscriminate firing to harass a plaintiff to get the murder and dacoity cases registered against them at Kaseesay police station withdrawn.
According to villagers and Allah Ditta Bhatti, the plaintiff, six dacoits on the night of 1st of January this year had made off with 60 tolas of gold ornaments at gunspoint. On his complaint a case was registered and one of the accused, Safadar, was arrested. Due to his arrest, his brother Ibrar hurled on him life threats and pressured him to withdraw the case and on his refusal, he along with his accomplices again attacked his outhouse on January 21.  The litigant said that the accused asked his sister about his whereabouts. 
On her refusal, they started firing, resultantly his sister Noor Asia was killed on the spot while his wife and two others sustained wounds. On the report of Allah Ditta Bhatti, another case of dacoity-cum-murder was registered against Ibrar and others.  The police in this case have arrested Rab Nawaz, Zubair and Faisal. Allah Ditta said that last night the accused Ibrar and others again besieged his house and opened firing to harass him and his family members.  Anti-dengue plan devised: The Tehsil Municipal Administration has chalked out a plan to fight dengue virus the tehsil,
Administrator Fakhrul Islam said that Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company has supplied 8 fogging machines, 15 spray pumps and 23 kits to effectively combat dengue mosquitoes. He said that more temporary staff would be recruited to ensure timely fogging and spray.
He further said that inadequate sanitary staff was at the disposal of TMA, adding that he would send a proposal to the Punjab government to recruit more staff. He also sought cooperation form the citizens and the media for ensuring better results.
PTI termed ray of hope: PTI district minority wing chief Kamran Pervaiz claimed scores of Christian leaders of Southern Punjab had joined his party. Talking to the media in the District Press Club, he said that Bishop Rev Leo Roderick and all the pastors of Southern Punjab have announced to join the PTI in their meeting with Central Leader Javed Hashmi in Multan.
Kamran also said that minorities had realised that Imran Khan was the only leader who could bring about change in the present system and end sectarianism from the motherland.
