Tourism sector to be developed on modern lines


LAHORE - A 4-member representative delegation of Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (TAAP) led by its Regional Chairman Dr Muhammad Sharif Khan called on Provincial Secretary Sports & Tourism Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik at his office on Friday and discussed matters of mutual interest.
While talking to the delegation, secretary tourism said that Punjab government will take all stakeholders on board for developing the tourism sector on modern lines. He said that government was taking necessary steps to encourage and promote tourism in the province as this sector has huge potential to grow.
Punjab is a land of changing vistas having huge touristic potential and rich cultural heritage which would be of greater attraction to the international tourists. In this regard, efforts are underway to build necessary infrastructure of facilities for the tourists, he added.
Dr Sharif Khan discussed various issues pertaining to travel agents and tour operators in the province and assured full cooperation to the Punjab government on behalf of TAAP.
