ISLAMABAD - Large number of elected representatives of Pakistan, 329, have not filed their income tax returns despite passing two deadlines in one week period, as the government has announced to issue tax directory of the lawmakers on February 15.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)’s officials said that 843 parliamentarians out of 1172 have filed their income tax returns till Monday, which was revised last day for filing returns.

“FBR has once again decided to further extend the deadline till February 14”, said an official of the tax department while talking to The Nation on Monday. He added that FBR has set earlier deadline of February 7 for filing returns of the income tax of the lawmakers, which later was revised to February 10.
