Rawalpindi - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) yesterday informed an anti-terrorism court that former Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik would testify his statement in Benazir Bhutto assassination case on the next date of hearing.

The Pakistan leading investigation agency also told the court that it had served the summon to a private assistant of Rehman Malik who told FIA that Malik could not appear before court because he was attending a meeting of Senate Standing Committee. 

The court issued summons for Malik again and adjourned the hearing till February 15.

According to details, Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Rai Muhammad Ayub Marth held proceedings in BB murder case at heavily guarded Adiala Jail during which FIA told the court it had executed court summon to the PA of Malik. The agency added that Malik would appear before the court on the next date of hearing for recording his statement in BB murder case.

In the meanwhile, Malik Jawad Khalid, a defense lawyer, completed his cross examination against SSP Waqar Chohan, the JIT member. ATC postponed hearing till February 15 and summoned again Rehman Malik for testify his statement.

In the courtroom, former CPO Syed Saud Aziz and former SP Rawal Town Khurram Shehzad were also present.
