LAHORE  - Two young women yesterday were kidnapped at gunpoint from different parts of the metropolis.

A 21-year-old woman was abducted by three gunmen from her house in Township while a 16-year-old housemaid was snatched away at gunpoint from Green Town.

The police have registered both the cases and are investigating with no barest made yet.

Sources close to the investigations said the case of 21-year-old woman was handed over to the anti-kidnapping for ransom cell of the crimes investigation agency.

A family member of the victim told the police investigators that the abductors were demanding four million rupees for the safe release of the woman. A special police team is investigating case.

The kidnappers contacted the victim family by phone yesterday and demanded Rs4 million as ransom. They also threatened the family to immediately arrange the cash and hand it over to them at a specific location somewhere.

In another incident, a teenage girl was snatched away at gunpoint from Green Town. The police have registered a case under section 365-B and are investigating.

Mother of the 16-year-old victim told The Nation that she was working at a nearby house when her daughter was snatched away by unknown men from the street in Green Town.

The names and other particulars of the victims are deliberately withheld because of security concerns.
