Unpaid UC secretaries go on strike

SIALKOT
The official working remained completely suspended at urban and rural union councils in Sialkot due to strike observed by the UC secretaries due to non-payment of their salaries for the last three months.
The offices of all the union councils remained closed due to which the people suffered great ordeal. The protesting secretaries also staged sit-ins and chanted slogans. They said that they have been suffering great financial crisis as they have been lying deprived of their salaries by the District Accounts Office Sialkot for the last three months. They said that the officials of the District Accounts Office have been adopting delaying tactics in the release of their salaries.
The protesting secretaries vowed to continue their strike till the release of their salaries. They urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to ensure early release of salaries, enabling the perturbed UC secretaries to make their both ends meet.
