LAHORE - Sufi singers and dancers from all over Pakistan enthralled on Saturday the audience of Rafi Peer Theatre’ mystic music festival at Alhamra Cultural Complex. The event will conclude today.

The artists who performed on the second day were Javed Bashir, Humaira Channa, Nighat Chaudhry, Khumariyan, Wahdat Rameez, Bushra Marvi, Akhtar Channal Zahri, Mithu Sain and Fusion.

The festival opened with the performance of Qawwali orchestra, a group of four Qawwals. The group beautifully presented some Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan songs.

With the knowledge of a variety of dance forms, and extensive travel to represent Pakistan in the International arena, Nighat Chaodhry showcased a new choreographed performance with her style of movement. She performed with her group and provided great solace to the audience.

Khumariyan is an instrumentalist band from Peshawar; they performed traditional and contemporary music.

The group has performed in many foreign countries and their music performance was brilliant.

Wahdat Rameez gave audience a time must socketed in Sufi vibes while singing ‘Yaar Daddi Ishq aatish’ and ‘Umaraan Lagian’.

Bushra Marvi’s singing wore a deep colour of Sufism as she sang ‘Yaar Daddi Ishq aatish’ and ‘Dama Dam mast Kalandar’.

Akhtar Chanal has an arresting stage presence that makes him an instant hit with audiences all over the world. He dances while he sings and it is a treat to see him whirl and move singing the romances of characters living in the craggy and parched soil of the province of Baluchistan. His performance too was remarkable.

Till filling of this report, Dhool Orchestra and Jawad Bashir performed.
