islamabad - Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University administration on Saturday besides appointing principal of Federal Medical and Dental College relieved registrar and controller of examinations from their posts in a major reshuffle, an official said.

Dr Tanwir Khaliq, head of surgery department and fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons and Royal colleges of London, Edinburgh and Ireland as a senior medical educationist, was working as the controller of examinations at the SZABMU.

The registrar and the controller examination have been replaced in the aftermath of separation of the SZABMU and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital.

The notification available with The Nation said that Registrar Dr Ayesha Isani Majeed and Controller of Examinations Dr Tanveer Khaliq had been relieved from their responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Dr Hamid Mehmood was assigned the charge of controller of examinations and Dr Hafeez Memon as the registrar.

Dr Hafeez was working as deputy registrar of the university.

Earlier, acting vice chancellor of the SZABMU had written a letter to the President to intervene and resolve the matters of the university emerged after the separation of the university from the PIMS. The VC mentioned that after passage of the new act aimed at separating the two entities, the university status stood derecognised by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and Higher Education Commission.
