LAHORE - Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Senator Sirajul has condemned the arrest of government employees in federal capital and asked the government to immediately address the demands of the protestors. In a statement issued from Mansoora on Wednesday, he said the government should raise the salaries of the employees according to the ratio of inflation. He demanded immediate release of the arrested workers, asking the government not to adopt the fascist practices, and give the people right to speech and peaceful protest. He said the inflation made it impossible for a common person to meet the ends. Masses were starving to death, millions went below the poverty lines and thousands lost their jobs due to the flawed economic policies of the PTI government, he added. Senator Siraj said the ruling party was still confused and directionless even after passing half of its tenure. However, he added, the government was not confused only on matter of receiving billions of dollars loan from the IMF and World Bank, thus enhancing the debt trap which could ultimately put the country security at compromised position.
