ANP MPA escapes bomb blast

PESHAWAR An ANP MPA escaped unhurt in a powerful remote -controlled bomb blast while his vehicle was damaged in the outskirts of provincial metropolis on Sunday, police said. The bomb, planted by unknown miscreants at about 100 meters off the Hujra of ANP MPA Alamgir Khan Khalil in Pawakai area, exploded when he along with his brother, driver and guard was about to reach his house. All of them remained unhurt, however, the MPAs vehicle was damaged in the incident. A wall of his house was also damaged due to the blast. Talking to TheNation, Jehangir Khan Khalil, brother of MPA Alamgir Khan Khalil, said that the bomb exploded moments after they drove past the site. We remained unhurt, however, our vehicle was damaged. According to him, his brother was the main target in the blast. Soon after the incident, the local police officials rushed to site and cordoned off the area. Later, a search operation was also launched for the arrest of terrorists, however, no arrest was made till the filing of this report.
