LAHORE – President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan said on Tuesday that enemies of the country are hatching conspiracies against the nuclear Muslim state and appealed to all the political forces to get united for countering the threats facing Pakistan.
He expressed these views while addressing ‘Syed Hajveri Tasawwaf’ seminar at Punjab University, which was organised by Punjab University Department of Arabic in collaboration with Provincial Ministry of Religious Affairs and Auqaf, Punjab in connection with 968th annual Urs of Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh.
Punjab Minister of Religious Affairs and Auqaf, Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi was the chief guest, while Provincial Mines Minister Ch Abdul Ghafoor, PU VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Chairman Arabic Department Dr Khalid Dad Malik, Secretary Religious Affairs and Auqaf Muzaffar Mahmood, Director General Dr Tahir Raza Bukhari, faculty members and a large number of students were also present on the occasion. Whereas President PU Hajveri Chair Dr Zahoor Ahmad Azhar read his paper.
He said that the charismatic personality of Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh was an example for our guidance and even people of other religions also respected him, adding that the spread of Islam in subcontinent was due to Sufis’ teachings.
Yaqoob said that Kashmiris were protecting the ideological boundaries of Pakistan and ready to sacrifice their lives for Pakistan.
President AJK said, “We are passing through difficult times and get ready to safeguard the sovereignty of our homeland”.
VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran said that after Prophets, Sufis got the responsibility to get people out of darkness through their deeds and teachings.
He said that Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh played a leading role to convert millions of people of subcontinent into Muslims.
Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi said that the purpose of lives of Sufis was promotion of teachings, Almighty Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He said that Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh preached the teachings of Islam in the subcontinent and showed the light to ignorant people.
While addressing in another programme organised by Tehreek-i-Takmeel-i-Pakistan in his honour, Sardar Yaqoob said Quaid-i-Azam had once said that Kashmir is the ‘jugular vein’ of Pakistan and Pakistan would be incomplete till the independence from the Indian occupation in the Occupied Kashmir.
Yaqoob said that the Kashmiris were pushing the movement of independence ahead with their blood and their sacrifices would be proved fruitful one day, he added. He said ultimately the Held Kashmir would be liberated one day.
He said that India was committing atrocities there by suppressing all the international laws and the code of ethics. Pakistan and the international community should press India that it should hold plebiscite in the Held Kashmir under the UN resolutions on Kashmir, he suggested.
He said that Majid Nizami was the only personality who always takes principle stand on Kashmir and he is committed in his stand on Kashmir.
He said he presents tribute to Nawa-i-Waqt for taking strong stand on Kashmir and Tehreek-i-Takmeel-i-Pakistan was also contributing its share in the independence move of Kashmir.
Earlier, chief coordinator Tehreek-i-Takmeel-i-Pakistan Manzoor Hussain Khan said that Tehreek-i-Takmeel-i-Pakistan was active for the ideological and geographical accomplishment of Pakistan. While the Pakistani peoples will continue moral support for their Kashmiri bothers because thousands of Pakistanis had sacrificed their lives for the Kashmir Movement, he maintained.
He further said Tehreek-i-Takmeel-i-Pakistan is an awareness movement and is the voice of every Pakistani.
