NANKANA SAHIB - Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah of the Lahore High Court has summoned the education secretary, VTI Punjab chairman, Nankana Sahib VTI principal and others on Wednesday (today) over a petition filed against the closure a course.

The petition has been filed by Muhammad Afzal and Sadiq Ali, parents of two students, who sought admission to the district vocational training institute’s motorcycle trade course.

The petitioners submitted that the programme had been closed down by the institute’s management over personal interests. They requested the court to pass orders for the restoration of the course to enable hundreds of students to get technical education to eke out a living and become useful citizens.

It may be mentioned here that the students’ parents had repeatedly requested different political figures and government officers for the restoration of the course. But their requests had drawn a blank.
