SARGODHA - The citizens, irked by prolonged loadshedding, showed shoes to PPP MNA and former federal minister of state Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi during a protest here in the city the other day.

Reportedly, the people were taking out a protest rally against power loadshedding and low-gas pressure, when Tasneem Ahmed reached there and tried to calm down them.

The protesters denied to listen to his speech and started showing him their shoes and raising anti-govt slogans. Over the disturbing situation, the MNA had to leave the venue.

Meanwhile, the said MNA’s companions termed the action an act of political opponents.

Hundreds of industrial workers staged a protest demonstration and took out a rally against worst loadshedding and low gas pressure here the other day.

On the call of Electrical Manufacturers Association, all the owners and workers belonging to electrical equipment manufacturing industry, shoemakers and other industries observed strike and took out a huge rally from Old Fruit Market to District Press Club. The participants, holding placards and banners inscribed with their demands, chanted slogans against consistent loadshedding and low gas pressure.

The speakers said in their addresses that government was ruining industry and was going to kill labourers as well as owners economically. They said that if this situation remained continue, the middle and poor class would starved to death. They demanded the government to finish loadshedding so that the small industries could survive.

Meanwhile, the traffic flow in the city badly suspended because of the rally.
