ISLAMABAD  - The commission formed to probe the murder of journalist Saleem Shahzad has completed its report. A high-level judicial commission headed by Justice Saqib Nisar was constituted to probe the killing of journalist Syed Saleem Shahzad. The PFUJ president was also included in this commission as a member.

The enquiry proceedings of the commission, on fast track basis, completed its report in six months.  The government has assured action against the culprits in accordance with the findings of the judicial commission. According to sources, the report includes PFUJ recommendations for the welfare of journalists along with assistance to Shahzad’s family.

The commission has recorded interviews of 41 individuals that are part of the report.  The commission had earlier recommended the government to make the report public.
