3-kg bomb blast kills one

KARACHI – A bomb carrying at least 3-kg explosives went off in a car at Rashid Minhas Road in which a man was killed here in the wee hours of Wednesday.According to details, police and rangers reached the spot and cordoned off the area. Bomb disposal squad also arrived and collected the evidence from blast site. Police said that the bomb completely damaged the vehicle. One person died in the blast whom identification has yet to be ascertained. The body was taken to Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy.The BDS officials said the explosive device was laying on the back seat of the car parked at the Askari Fuel Pump when blast took place.They did not find any nut bolts and ball bearing from the spot. BDS said that the culprits had to blast the explosive through remote control device but bomb went off when the culprit was trying fixed it in the car. Police said that a fake number plate number AXX-525 was used on the vehicle. Police registered the case against unknown accused.
