ISLAMABAD – Help line of Islamabad Police, Rescue 15, received 565,247 calls during the last year and provided immediate assistance to the people seeking assistance from police.

Out of these calls, 196361 calls were regarding general information while 18496 distressed calls were immediately responded and assistance was provided to the people. Out of these calls 1210 were related to ambulance service while police staff at various desks in hospitals including PIMS and Poly Clinic provided immediate help to 5443 persons.

Meanwhile, 759 calls were regarding traffic accidents and Rescue 15 staff for collecting evidences and providing assistance during investigation process visited 764 crime scenes. Bomb Disposal Squad checked 19,873 vehicles at various entry points and Vehicles’ Verification Cell checked 4872 cars as well as 617 motorbikes.

A total of 89020 vehicles were verified by SMS service of Rescue 15 and staff of WAPDA, Fire brigade and SNGPL was also conveyed complaints for immediate redressal. A total of 375 lost children and persons were reunited with their families and the heirs of these person’s lauded efforts of Rescue 15.

IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan said that Rescue 15 is delivering valuable services for the cause of humanity and helping people out from the distressed situations.

He said that 38 vehicles have been provided to Rescue 15 for helping citizens and `respond time’ of this service is only four minutes. He appreciated the staff of Rescue 15 and further directed to maintain the quality of service with professional commitment and dedications.” The way Rescue 15 is serving the citizens is praise worthy,” he maintained.

SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq has directed in-charge Rescue 15 DSP Safeer Bhatti to make concerted efforts and ensure visit the venue of incident in time as well as save the exhibits till the arrival of the local police. In case of injury, the injured persons should be given first aid immediately.

The IGP Bani Amin Khan has said that Rescue 15 should discharge their duties with great zeal. He said relief and rescue services should be further improved with the changing requirements of the time and maximum relief to be provided to the citizens so that gap between police and public could be removed.
